LEVEL 1: “Foundations for Social Dancing” - 1:00pm - 2:30pm

Perfect for beginners or all level dancers who want to strengthen their foundation in a relaxed, social-dance focused environment. Brand new to Bachata? This is a great opportunity to start your dance journey with us!

Over 4 weeks, we’ll focus on:

  • Basic step – 3 steps and a tap
  • Technique – Correct frame, weight shift
  • Body movement – feet position, posture, bent knees
  • Footwork – Forward & back basic, Right & left turn, Dominican step
  • Partnerwork – Closed and open position, position 1 & 2, half turns, cuddle into forward & back walk, hammerlock
  • Music – learn to find beat 1 or 5

Level 1:  Requirements – practice between series classes.  Be able to repeat the prior class’s lesson with minimal review from the instructor at the next class.

This level is about feeling good while you dance, not overthinking it. No partner or experience needed to attend.

LEVEL 2: “Partnerwork, Footwork & Musicality” - 2:45pm - 4:15pm

This level is perfect for leads and follows who want cleaner technique, smoother partnerwork, stronger timing, better styling, deeper connection, and more confidence on the social dance floor, with role-specific guidance to help each dancer improve.

Over 4 weeks, we’ll focus on:

  • Lead – Proper preps for each move, be able to transition from any move to another, develop your own pattern
  • Follow – Move in the correct direction or position given a specific prep, styling opportunities during partnerwork and freestyling
  • Musicality – Choosing to move during selected instruments or voices to a song

Level 2. Requirements – Designed for intermediate dancers with at least one year of consistent Bachata training. Before joining, you should have a strong foundation in basic partnerwork and social dance fundamentals, be able to recognize the rhythm and begin on beat 1 or beat 5 without prompting, and maintain a clear, comfortable frame throughout an entire song.

If you’ve taken Bachata classes before and want a structured, supportive way to truly learn — this series is for you. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this special series and elevate your Bachata dancing together!
