"Copes Movements and Combinations" (created by the famous Juan Carlos Copes and adapted for today's style of dance). Workshop is for All Level dancers.
9pm-1am Milonga Sentimental with DJ Gustavo Hornos.

**Please Note: Workshops 1 and 2 is for All Levels. Workshops 3 and 4 Intermediate Level and up. If you register without a partner, please know that we will rotate you during the workshops.
WORKSHOP #1: 1pm-2:15pm "Tango Posture, Walking and Musicality". Since we all struggle with the most important fundamentals of Tango, learn how to find your best posture, find your core staying connected with your body to project a solid and firm presence on the floor. Walk with the music and discover the structure of tango music, the beat, the changes of speed, enjoy the pauses and dance even the silence.
WORKSHOP #2: 2:30pm-3:45pm "Connection Work as One with Your Partner". The Tango couple is transformed into "one body with four legs". Which kind of embrace should we choose? Learn steps to get engaged on the floor, how to keep connected working as a unity without losing your own independence and give time to the other half to express. You will understand when and how to do embellishments and how the followers can make suggestions without imposing them to the leader. How to be a good listener, and keep the dialogue engaging and interesting.
WORKSHOP #3: 4pm-5:15pm "Seven different ways to move on from a "Parada". We will focus on creative footwork variatons for leaders and followers. Leaders become an octopus, moving your feet like hands. Followers become a rainbow painter with the expressivity of your feet. We will use slides, barridas, boleos, ganchos, sacadas, volcadas.
WORKSHOP #4: 5:30pm-6:45pm "Choreography Figures that make your Audience Clap". Tricks, lifts, ganchos, colgadas and drags. Dancing like a tango star! Impress your friends, show off and learn the best figures that will make you shine on the dance floor! Tell a great story, be dramatic and learn how to start and end a choreography.

ABOUT JOHANA COPES:
Her Tango Dance began when she was 14 in 1993. She is the daughter of the world famous Tango Dancer of the Century Mr. Juan Carlos Copes. Today She is recognized as one of the most prestigious dancers, choreographers and organizer of the Tango Dance World. She participated in marvelous musicals around the world: Broadway in New York, Miami, California, Texas ,Tokyo, Germany, Italy, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Holland, France, United Arab Emirates, among others, such as, Tango Magic y Seduction,The best of Dance, Tango Argentino in Broadway and Copes Tango Copes, among many others. In 1997 she had a teacher and dancer role in Carlos Saura's film, «Tango», nominated for an Oscar. She was the representative of Argentina in the advertising of Olympics Vancouver-Canada 2010. She was the master and dancer in special meetings for: Liza Minelli, George Bush Father, Jenifer Lopez, Cindy Lauper, Roger Waters and other important stars! She was a juror for the world tango championship in Buenos Aires and in other places around the world. In 2012 and 2013 she was in charge of the Juror of the Buenos Aires City Championship Global Pre-World Tango Event and has organized the Opening of the 2009 Tango World Championship. In 2012 and 2013 was the curator of the World Tango Championship Jury and since 2012 organizes programs of lessons, shows and various events related to the Dance Tango Festival and World Tango Championship of the City of Buenos Aires. Johana was the first dancer in a famous Tango House in Buenos Aires ”Tango Porteño”.
ABOUT LEONARDO SARDELLA:
Leonardo Sardella started dancing tango professionally in his hometown of Buenos Aires. He has trained with renowned tango instructors
Leonardo has performed on the best stages in Argentina with several dance companies. He moved to New York City in 2011 when he co-founded Malevaje with Walter Perez. He currently teaches and performs at Dardo Galletto Studios in the heart of Times Square in New York City. Leonardo has participated in the International Tango festivals worldwide and has performed and taught workshops in major cities in the United States and in England, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Bolivia and Argentina. He ranks very high on the list of the most important Argentine tango dancers in the world that are capable of exchanging smoothly and creatively roles of leader and follower.
